The first, vague, jelly-like idea.
I’ve had this percolating in my mind for a few weeks on and off.
I want to create a website quiz, kind of like that “What Religion Are You?” quiz, that will sort people into different political parties.
The kicker is, many of these political parties do not yet exist….my hope is that this might have a tiny part in MAKING them exist…breaking up the 2-party system (might as well think big, eh?)
As the introductory graphic, I’m envisioning a circle, with several parties (probably about 8) along the circumference. To the left are the Dems, right are the Repubs. At the top of the circle is the Libertarians (fiscal conservative, social liberal); at the bottom is what I’m currently calling the WWJD party (help the poor, but conservative on life issues). Then we fill in others all along the circle between these 4...some that exist, some that should but do not.
The quiz will be multiple choice and will ask questions about the big issues, e.g., defense/war, immigration, religion/prayer in public life, abortion, gay rights, stem cell, consumer protections, welfare, labor issues, corporate concerns, taxes, animals, race, education, economics, job creation….etc.
Let the cogitations and creations begin.
